A carjacking on Tidwell. A GPS tracker. A confrontation at 610 and Airline. Louis Erebia, 56, did not come home. HHI was on scene within 20 minutes of the shooting. One man is charged with murder. One suspect remains outstanding.

I was on scene within twenty minutes of the shooting. The tape was still going up. Detectives were working the intersection. The television crews arrived after I did — and when they reached the press line, I was already inside the tape, credentialed, escorted by detectives, working the scene.
That is how HHI works. We are not a publication that arrives when the press release goes out. We are a publication that is already there.
Here is what happened, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
THE CARJACKING — TIDWELL ROAD, 2:03 P.M.

Saturday, June 6, 2026. Shortly after 2 p.m., a man was at a gas station in the 11800 block of Tidwell Road. A suspect approached him, asked about his blue Chevrolet Silverado, produced a firearm, and took the truck. The victim was left at the station. The suspect drove away.
The victim had a GPS tracker on the truck. He pulled up the app. He could see exactly where his truck was. He called his family.

THE CONFRONTATION — 610 AND AIRLINE

Louis Erebia was 56 years old. He was the victim's father — a husband, a father of five, and a grandfather of three. He located the stolen Silverado near the intersection of Interstate 610 and Airline Drive and moved toward it. A collision involving the stolen truck followed, disabling the vehicle. At this .2 suspects, jumped out of the Stolen vehicle and engaged in a gun fight with a father. Then the two suspects got out and ran toward a nearby Chevron station. While they were there, they engaged in another running gun fight with the father and uncle who were chasing them. That’s when the father was struck by gunfire.

Erebia pursued them.

During the confrontation, one of the suspects produced a firearm and opened fire. Erebia was struck. A second man who had come with him was also struck. Both were transported to a hospital. Louis Erebia did not survive. He was pronounced dead.
He had gone looking for his son's truck. He found it. He did not come home.

His family said afterward: "He was the kind of man this world desperately needs more of. Louis loved his family with every ounce of his heart."
THE ARREST AND CHARGES
London Hogan Sr., 37, was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Court records show that at the time of the shooting, Hogan was on deferred adjudication — a form of probation — for a 2023 assault of a family or household member. He was pending completion of that supervision when he carjacked the Silverado on Tidwell Road and killed Louis Erebia.

A second suspect has not been publicly identified or charged as of this report. HCSO has not released the condition of the second shooting victim. The investigation is ongoing.
INSIDE THE TAPE
Louis Erebia, 56, went looking for his son's property and was killed for it at the intersection of 610 and Airline Drive. That fact belongs in the record. That is why HHI was there.
Anyone with information about the second suspect is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
