Man Trapped, Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Sam Houston Tollway and Veterans Memorial

Harris County Constable Precinct 4 responds; vehicle extraction required; Life Flight placed on standby.

HOUSTON — A man was seriously injured and required extraction from his vehicle following a two-vehicle collision at approximately 10:40 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026, on the eastbound frontage road of the Sam Houston Tollway at Veterans Memorial Drive, inside Harris County Constable Precinct 4 jurisdiction.

Harris County Emergency Services District fire personnel responded and conducted a vehicle extraction after the victim was reported trapped and crushed inside his vehicle. The man was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital. Responding personnel placed him on oxygen and administered an IV prior to transport. He was observed conscious and breathing at the time of transport.

Life Flight was not deployed. A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter was on scene providing aerial oversight with a spotlight trained on the crash site. A DPS lifeline unit was placed on standby. Harris County Constable Precinct 4 units responded with multiple deputies on scene.

Two women in their twenties, daughters of the injured man, arrived at the scene following this reporter. They stated they had received a call that their father had been involved in the accident and had been crushed in the vehicle. Both spoke to this reporter on scene with knowledge that he was press. They said they understood their father was conscious and breathing when extracted.

Multiple tow truck operators were on scene. The cause of the collision is under investigation by Harris County Constable Precinct 4. The official crash report will be filed through the Texas Department of Transportation crash records system.
